Why Do My Sensors Give Random Spikes in Readings?

Sometimes my analog sensor values suddenly jump for 1–2 seconds.
Is this noise or a sensor fault?

This usually happens because of noise on the signal line, not the sensor itself.
It’s very common when sensor cables run close to motor or VFD power cables.
Loose terminals, poor grounding, or missing cable shielding can also cause small voltage changes that show up as spikes.
First try separating signal and power cables, tighten terminals, and check grounding.
In most cases, fixing the wiring solves it and the sensor is perfectly fine.
